Hijab- The 'thing'
I'm looking at some people on the internet in their "hijabs" and I feel nauseated! Because what I see is young girls obsessed with their appearance, even while they claim to be in "hijab". I don't want my daughter to be that way about her appearance, just like I don't want her to be anorexic. Listen, if hijab means not ever showing even one strand of your hair, then it also means not wearing tight clothes, or make-up, not to flash your beauty and not talking in your sweetest voice on a public platform like youtube!! Personally, I feel hijab is about 'haya', the same concept of being moderate that Islam has about every other aspect of life. A muslim is expected to be moderate about every thing, and not be obsessive about any thing, ANY thing of this world.... That includes yourself, your family, your body, your home, your kids, your appearance, even your religion (Remember: it is not favorable to leave dunya and live alone in a desert) The
